What poem has stayed with you through your life of faith?
Join Rev Fr Ryan Service for a warm, reflective evening exploring how poetry can deepen prayer, illuminate doubt, nurture hope and help us see God in new ways. Through a carefully chosen selection of poems—from writers such as Gerard Manley Hopkins, George Herbert and Elizabeth Jennings —Ryan will share why poetry continues to speak so powerfully to the Christian journey.
Please bring along one poem (or a short extract) that has been meaningful to you. Whether sacred or secular, you’ll be invited—if you wish—to read it aloud and share, in just a minute or two, why it has mattered on your own faith journey.
This is not a poetry recital but a shared conversation: an opportunity to listen, reflect, discover new voices and revisit familiar ones in the company of fellow readers.
The evening will conclude with a final poem, a short prayer and a blessing.
Come with a favourite poem—and leave with several new ones.
